Marie Fuxová

Marie Fuxová comes from musical family. At the age of 10, she had a solo performance with Janáček´s Philharmonic Orchestra in Ostrava. After graduation at Janáček´s conservatory in Ostrava (in the class of I. Vítková) and then at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Praha (Prof. Ivan Štraus) she upgraded her studies in Vienna and at the courses led by the prominent Czech and world-known violinists (V. Hudeček, F. Novotný, Ch. Avsharian, E. Perényi, R. Ricci, S. Ships...). As solo player, she was awarded in many international competitions. In the years 2007 – 2008, she was a member of Pavel Haas Quartet. With the quartet she recorded a CD nominated for the prize of the Gramophone magazine which won MIDEM Classical Award 2009 in a chamber music category in Cannes.
