Matěj Štěpánek

Matěj Štěpánek studied Violoncello at the Conservatory of Pardubice with Josef Krečmer. From 2010 he studies the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Miroslav Petráš and Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Emil Rovner. He absolved the Orchestral Academy of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra; he participated on Masterclasses of Telč Academy with Michaela Fukačová, ISA Masterclass in Austria with Evgenie Epstein, Peter Prause, Avedis Kouyoumdijan, Johannes Meissl and Peter Shuhmayer. He is winner of the Conservatory competition in 2008, prize-holder of Dotzeuer cello competition in Dresden 2009, International competition of Bohuslav Martinů 2012 and ISA Masterclass competition in 2013 in Wien. As soloist he performed with the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra and PKF Prague Philharmonia.
