Subito
The mixed-voice chamber choir Subito is a vocal ensemble (occasionally vocal and instrumental), which is keen on discovering lesser-known choral repertoire from 20th and 21st century composers and performing it at thematic concerts. The quality of Subito’s music projects springs from a balanced mix of musicality, enormous enthusiasm and rich singing experience. Subito has been rehearsing and performing since 2008. Since then, the choir has organized dozens of concerts in the Czech Republic, released a debut Christmas-themed CD in 2012 and accepted the invitation of the Humboldt University Choir in 2015 to perform in Berlin. A number of projects were done in collaboration with Marek Valášek’s Piccolo coro choir and Piccola orchestra. For their concerts, Subito is choosing suitable as well as unconventional locations in Prague, such as the Church of St. Martin in the Wall, the Transport Hall of the National Technical Museum, the Brožík Assembly Hall in the Old Town Hall, Refectory at the Dominican Monastery in Jilská Street, the Czech Museum of Music, the Church of St. Wenceslas at Zderaz, the Bethlehem Chapel, or the Troja Chateau, but returns regularly to the Valdštejn Loggia in Jičín and the Parish Church of St. Jacob in Přepeře. Two conductors are in charge of the artistic direction and dramaturgy of the concerts: Monika Václová and Michaela Králová.
