Stanislav Mistr
Stanislav Mistr got his M. A. degree from Faculty of Teaching, Charles University (Prague), where he also received his singing education. As a tenor soloist of the Chamber Opera Prague, he appeared as Fernando in Mozart's Cosi fan tutte and sang the leading part of Abraham in the coloratura version of Josef Mysliveček's oratory Abraham and Isaac under the Prague Spring festival. His career of a professional musician comprises choir conducting and singing.
In 1992 he started the “Pražští pěvci” choir, which has been since awarded numerous prizes also in international competitions (e.g. two awards won at Jersey 2002). On the choir's 10th anniversary in spring 2002 he put on Bach’s St. John Passion, where he (apart from conducting and playing the lute) sang the part of Evangelist.
Stanislav Mistr is a member of the Prague Philharmonic Choir, the Czech most renowned professional singing body, and of the Gutta Musicae, an ensemble specializing in Renaissance and Baroque music. He also teaches music and is active in the non-artificial music sphere as a multi-instrumentalist.
