Tomáš Černý

At present, one of the most outstanding Czech tenors Tomáš Černý performs as a guest soloist on Czech and European opera stages. Since 1997 he had studied with Jiři Kotouč and since 2002 with Svatava Šubrtová. After the Masterclass in 2006 with Margreet Honig he has been improving his voice performance with her. He has also worked on bel canto technique with the soprano Christina Vasileva lately. He takes successfully part in prestigious international festivals, e.g. Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Milano Musica, Prague Spring, International Festival of Contemporary Music Warsaw Autumn and at opera stages, e.g. Komische Oper Berlin, Staatstheater Wiesbaden or Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava. In 2011 recording of Dvorak’s Requiem (ArcoDiva) was awarded prestigious mark of Tokusen (Exclusive Recommendation) in Japan in 2011.
